The Student Financial Aid Office for the University is located at the Storrs Campus. The telephone number is (860) 486-2819. Financial aid information and forms are also available at the Torrington Campus. Questions should be addressed to Registrar/Bursar David Horvath at (860) 626-6805. To apply for financial aid, a student must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Applicants filing between January 1 and March 1 for the following academic year are considered "on time. applicants. Applications received after March 1 are considered "late", but will still be reviewed for Pell Grants and Stafford Student Loans. The UConn Financial Aid Office may request other documentation, such as copies of income tax returns, as well. These, however, need to be submitted only if they are requested. Also, the completed bank loan application must be sent to the Financial Aid Office at Storrs if the student is applying for a Stafford Student Loan. Continuing students should receive a Renewal Application in the mail each December after the initial FAFSA has been processed. This application allows students to update their information without filling out another complete FAFSA. However, any student who does not receive a Renewal Application should complete another FAFSA. Normally, financial aid is awarded for the entire school year with the student receiving one-half of the aid each semester. Students requesting financial aid for only the Spring Semester should submit the necessary forms prior to October 1. Non-degree students are not eligible for federal financial aid.
